About Me

I am a Registered Dietitian with 30+ years experience and 10 years experience as a Lactation Consultant.  My passion has always been helping mothers, babies, and children.  I was drawn to lactation counseling because of my own breastfeeding experiences with my 2 children.  I failed miserably with my first baby.  After a rocky start, I breastfed my second baby for 5 months.   Later when I learned about what lactation consultants do and realized how much I could have benefited from their help and support, I knew I wanted to add that to my career.  I could have breastfed both of my babies for at least one year if I had only known what I know now.

What Moms Say

I am a first time mom. I knew I wanted to breastfeed, and I had read books
and posts online in preparation. When my daughter was born, I was
overwhelmed with how to breastfeed her. You think some motherly instinct is
suppose to sweep over you, but the truth is you need some practical advice and support. Patty came in and provided both. She gave tips on positioning and latching and also pointed out some signs and cues to look for when my
daughter was hungry or full. More than anything, she was there to reassure
me that my baby was getting the nutrition she needed and to troubleshoot
with me, when I had concerns. If it wasn’t for the help and support Patty
gave me, I’m not sure I would still be breastfeeding my daughter
today.  But, I am, and my daughter is healthy and growing stronger
each day. There are so many incredible benefits to breastfeeding, but
especially initially, it’s natural to need support and advice to make
breastfeeding a reality.  Patty is an amazing lactation consultant, and I highly recommend her to handle any breastfeeding issues or concerns you might have with your baby.   Sarah Houghton, Sheridan, WY
"Patty helped me overcome several issues I had when my son was born.  He was a small baby who had trouble latching from the start and I ended up sore and exhausted -- ready to give up several times.  Patty helped me learn how to position him correctly, compensate for his little mouth, and gave me the confidence I needed to make it through a very trying first month.  If it wasn't for her pragmatic advice I likely would have given up.  Nursing has only gotten easier since that time and we are still going strong at 7.5 months!  I would highly recommend any new Mom to use Patty's services."
